Yes, we of Itertours have privileged access to all of our sites. Only at the Vatican and Colosseum tours we skip the ordinary entrance lines but due to security reasons there is a baggage check.
Itertours caters to all our clients’ wishes. If you would like to extend or shorten the time of a tour, stay longer in any specific site, just let us know we will make it happen.
This is not included in the total price of our listed tours. Upon request we can arrange a pick up/drop off service with a private driver.
Yes! Our tours run rain or shine. On some rare occasions, when the weather is particularly dramatic, some outdoor sites may be closed (e.g. the Colosseum, Ostia Antica and Ponza&Palmarola day trip excursion may be closed in the case of flooding). During these occasions we will contact you in advance and offer an alternative date or tour.
A group tour is one where you join a group of other travelers and a single guide – our groups are usually around 10 people. Because our groups are so small, you’ll still find it easy to hear, ask questions and interact with your guide, it’s more cost-effective than a private tour, which is when you pay to have your own personal tour guide (and/or transfer) just for you.
Most of our tours are on foot and at most sites some stairs will be present. Nonetheless, we pace our tours in just the right amount and give our clients a chance to sit down to rest and use the restrooms when available.
The Vatican requires a dress code for both men and women to cover shoulders and knees while inside sacred areas like the Sistine Chapel and St Peter’s Basilica. In addition to the Vatican, when a church is listed as a stop on your tour itinerary, please ensure you are wearing suitable clothing that covers shoulders and knees.
No, unfortunately all of our tickets and reservation fees are paid in advance of the tour.
